Allrightynow!
Today woke up with new energy after a good night's sleep. Slept like a baby :)
Well, I found M hanging about, guess she is a early bird. She was waiting for me to have some breakfast, so we went to the kitchen to make us sommething. The place was almost desserted since the people that is comming for the convention is supposed to come tomorrow. So it was just me, M and the house keeper. The keeper was an elderly man, but he was really nice and told us many stories about Panama and gave us usefull information on the what's and how's in Panama. (Talking about what we should say when looking for a cab to get it cheap)
Well, today's primary mission was to get to the Panama Canal, but to get there we would have to take a cab from the city center to get it as cheap as possible.
To get to the city we would then have to take a "Diablo Rojo" (Red Devil). As you have allready guessed it's a bus, and by the name you can only think what kinda bus I'm talking about. It's a fleet of old buses that are known for their high speed on the streets. People have to jump in and out and you have less than a 2 seconds before the contraption speeds away, with or without you.
So, we took one of these red devils and well, I've taken worse metal beasts than these one. Thank god for that. After some 20-30 minutes of a bumpy ride we got to the old town of Panama. From there we walked some, trough a marked and after a while we hailed a cab. The dude wanted more than what the keeper told us to pay, so we declined. When we were walking away he reduced the price, but no dice, too expencive anyway. Next one was a little more in our budget so we took it. I' can't recall how much he charged us, but he could also pick us up after an hour or so. We payed him the first half and he'd get the other half afterwards.. The trip took about 15 minutes and when we got to the place we entered the Panama Interoceanic Canal Museum.

Inside in the Museum
They used this little train
to get all this gravel away from here.
The fake controllroom.
Guess they did have a full scale train here.
Well, it's been a while since it's been in use.
Welcome!
Well, after sightseeing the museum, watching a short movie, having watched how a ship passes through the canal, and helped a fellow from Argentina to sneak his girlfriend into the museum (don't ask) we were supposedto meet up with our taxi driver. After a 15 minute wait we decided to ditch the driver and take another cab into town. Took another cab and now we wanted to go to one of the largest malls in the city of Panama, Albrook!
Here's the link to the official site of the mall: http://albrookmall.com/
Animals is tha' thing here.
OMG, King Kong's got me!
DOOOOONUTS!!!!!
Gotta love those sweet donuts!
The food court. Well, one of the two we found.
In the middle of the court there was a carusel
Elefant! The mall is divided into different sections, each with their own animal. I think there is almost 700 different stores in the mall.
Some hours went by, and me and M got a little tired and hungry, so we decided to get sommething to eat. The place we went to was none other than T.G.I. Fridays! I had a kick ass burger with a big ass milkshake and M had a salad or sommething, girls and their salads, pfff...
After a great dinner, we walked on inside the mall. Then we found a second food court and the cinema. Great monkey balls! Resident Evil: Retribution had premiere this weekend. So I had to persuade M to see it with me. After a lot of intimidating zombie talk from me, she agreed to see it. hehe....
If any of you do not know about Resident Evil, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Resident Evil official site
Well, the movie was so-so, but all is good as long as there is shooting and zombies involved :)
After the movie we went to the food court to get some delicious donuts!
Sweet Baby Jesus! What great donuts! Why do they not have Dunkin' donuts in Norway? Anyway, after a sudden sugar-rush we went downtown to party some! We asked where tha' shit was and took a cab there. The street we'd been recommended was loaded with different places, but the music was way to weird and way to high for human ears to contain without some internal damage :b After a long walk we found a restaurant and went in. It was nice inside because of the AC, cos' outside was friggin' hot. We bought a bucket of beer (yeah, a bucket) and sat there and chilled for the rest of the evening :) Later on we grabbed a cab and went back to the Union House to get some rest. I was exhausted, but happy. We managed to do a lot today and it was all goooooood :)
Next up...
Airport, Colombia and Chile!
