Chile: Puerto Natales y Las Torres del Paine

Battleship and Nathy

The next day I met Nathy at the town square again.
Then we went to find some information on how we could get to las Torres and to plan our trip to Calafate and Porvenir. After a couple of hours asking around at different tourist agencies we booked a full day trip to Las Torres for tomorrow. Then we went to the harbour to get ticket to Porvenir. We booked that too and well, spend the rest of the evening at the Duty Free Zone :) Had to go to bed early today since we were going to have to wake early tomorrow. But first we went to the local casino to eat some sushi!

Allright! On the move again!
The tour started super early in the morning. The good thing is that the minivan comes around and pick us up at whatever hostel we are staying in. Well, after a 2 hour drive we arrived at Puerto Natales, there we got a cup of coffe and could take some pictures of the place.  After Natales we went to see the Midolons Cave. The Midolon was a animal that looked like a overgrown sloth. Well, the tour went on and we stopped at different places to look around. The last stop was the glacier Grey. As you can see we got a lot of awesome pictures.

Right at the doorstep of Puerto Natales

At the end of the one day tour we asked to be left in Puerto Natales. We did not want to go back to Punta Arenas just yet and the fact that Calafate is just 5 hours away. After a little walk and a lot of asking around we found this small hostel that was also a travel agency, heh. The next morning we took the bus over to Argentina and the small town Calafate. There we searched for the cheapest hostel we could find. And cheap we found. For only 50 Argentinean pesos each, we got ourselves a private room with a private bath. Great! After that Nathy was feeling hungry. Man! That girl is always hungry if u ask me. Anyway, we went about to find us a nice cheap place to eat. And ofcourse we found the best place in Calafate. La Fonda de el Parrillero! For only 40 pesos we had Biffe de chorizo with some potatoes. Man! The Argentinean beef is the greatest. The taste is from another world. We had the whole day to relax.

Next up…
Perito Moreno and back to Chile
