Yesterday
we booked bus tickets to Copacabana. That is the Bolivian Copacabana that is right
besides the great Titicaca Lake. The bus came actually to the hostel to pick us
up early in the morning, that way we did not have to go to the terminal. It is
supposedly to be a little dodgy at this hour. Well, and of course, to be picked
up at the hotel for almost nothing is a no brainer.
Our bus on a barge
Well, it took
a couple of hours to get to this famous river that separates Copacabana. There
we had to cross it by boat since there is no bridge. The bus would cross on a
raft and we would take a small boat. After a while of waiting for our bus to
arrive (the raft took way longer than our boat) we boarded the bus again and
off we went to Copacabana. The driver announced that if we stayed at the SommethingSommething
hotel, we could get a super discount. So we decided to take it. It was super
cheap for a hotel. Even cheaper than most hostels we’d been to. Well, to make
the story short, we went to the hotel, booked a few nights and went around
Copacabana to see what’s what.
Our hotel.
Nice view, uh...
Titicaca sunset.
The day
passed by and we managed to book a tour for tomorrow. We wanted to see Isla
Grande. It’s an island in the middle of Lake Titicaca. Later on it was dinner
time and we went to this restaurant that served Pasta. Nathy wanted Alfredo
dish and so did I. Man, the pasta they gave us was, well…. Just sad… It was
like a knife through the heart. Well, we ate fast and vanished. Let’s hope
tomorrow’s dinner would improve.
Next up…
Lake
Titicaca & Isla Del Sol.
